This is the motto we chose for this year. We've had some... attitude issues this year. Hey, let's face it, we all have attitude issues from time to time. But certain children in our home have had them a lot more than others. So Much More. Sheesh.
Spencer embarked on his last year of middle school and is a big 8th grader. He's taking advanced math, which gives him high school credit. Neither of us realized this until the open house a couple of nights before school. (Why no, I had no idea he'd be earning HS credit. Yes, I'm totally involved in my child's education. *sigh*) He's still loving band and will be trying out for Jazz Band again in September. He's also now in men's sizes, which means back to school shoe and clothes shopping is significantly more expensive!
Josh is ready to take on his last year of elementary school as a big 5th grader! He's now in Mrs. Rambo's 4/5 advanced class, and I think he's really enjoying it so far. He even had a project to do over the summer. (A quick "what I did over summer vacation" PowerPoint presentation.) I think he'll be far less bored and happy with the challenge!
Cole is a happy 2nd grader! He has a brand-brand-new teacher this year - Miss Misner. As in, this is her very first class ever. And she was hired less than a month before school started because another teacher unexpectedly retired. He seems to be enjoying school and only had meltdowns the first couple of days back to school because that first week of school is always tiring and exhausting. So... so far so good.
Miss Tess is super excited to be a big 1st grader. She has the wonderful Mrs. Meyers, who was Cole's teacher last year. (Big sigh of relief! She really is a great teacher.) Tess is sad most of her best friends from last year aren't in her class this year, but she's quickly making new friends and figuring out the rigors of 1st grade.
I have the feeling it's going to be a great school year.
