Harry Potter Alternate Endings

I finished rereading the 6th Harry Potter book the other night. Awesome, as usual. I am totally excited for the new one to come out! (Although I have to admit that I'm also kinda sad, since it will be the last one ever!)

I am now more convinced than ever that Snape is a bad guy. He was totally playing the Order of the Phoenix as a double agent. Okay, even if he wasn't, he's still a jerk.

I had forgotten how much kissing went on in the last book. Do you think it will be Ron and Hermione's turn in book 7?

I don't think Harry will die in book 7. What would be the point of that? They're the Harry Potter books, not Voldemort's. Okay, so that's pretty shaky logic, but I still stand by it.

Last night Lance and I came up with several alternate endings for the series. They've already proven themselves at other times, so they're bound to be winners with Harry. What do you think?

Alternate Ending #1
While Harry and Voldemort have one final battle, Voldemort drops this bomb:
V: Harry, I'm your father.
H: No, that's not true! That's impossible!
V: Harry, you can destroy the Ministry. They have foreseen this. It is your destiny. Join me, and together we can rule the magical world as father and son.
H: Noooo!!!
They continue fighting and Voldemort cuts off Harry's hand, and Harry falls off a very large cliff. He lives, of course, only to discover that Cho is his sister. Ewww.

Alternate Ending #2
Harry discovers one of the horcruxes is a ring in the possession of some weird little dude who keeps calling it his 'precious'. Harry then meets up with an elf, a king, and a troll, and they all travel to New Zealand to fight 10 million orcs - I mean trolls - before he can kill off Voldemort.

Alternate Ending #3
Harry finishes off Voldemort, becomes an Auror, and also becomes. Years later he meets up with Ginny again, and they get married. (Him for the first time, her for the third.) He soon discovers, however, that she is still secretly in love with Dean, who has married her best friend. After trying unsuccessfully to make her fall in love with him, he decides to leave. He tells her that he's leaving her as he flies on his broomstick out of their large mansion.
Ginny: Harry, Harry...if you go, where shall I go, what shall I do?
Harry: Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

Alternate Ending #4
While searching for Voldemort's horcruxes, Harry meets a powerful wizard named Norpheus. Norpheus offers him two potions: one red, one blue.
Norpheus: This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue potion - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red potion - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
Harry takes the red potion. He discovers that Voldemort is actually hooking all of his victims up to a large, magic-producing computer, using their energy to power it. Norpheus helps him prepare for the inevitable final battle.
Harry: I know kung fu, uh, I mean magic.
Norpheus: Show me.
A side effect is that Harry can no longer seem to speak in sentences longer than four words.

Ladies and gentlemen...

... we had an accident free day!! (Way to go, Spencer!)

Prayers are answered, life is sometimes answered, and I think the worst is over! (Hooray!)

My Little Men

I couldn't resist getting a few pictures of the boys this morning, dressed in their Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes. Josh's tummy kept peeking out of his last outfit, and I forgot to look for a new outfit for him until this morning. Luckily I found an old suit of Spencer's. Spencer wore the same outfit at 18 months old - Josh is 9 months! The pants are too long but a little tight in the waist, and the vest is a bit snug. Guess I'll be shopping for a new outfit this week! (The next sizes up are what Spencer is wearing now or are too warm for winter!) Anybody seen any church clothes on sale lately?

Spencer has already discovered the universal hatred men have of tight neckties.

Josh says "I'm outta here!"

I love Josh's look in this picture; it's something akin to "I'm still deciding whether or not I like this. I'm leaning towards not!"

My two cutie pies. (Now if only they stayed this cute and good during church!)

Flickrvision

Look at what I just discovered: Flickrvision. I love it. Flickrvision shows new pictures from all over the world every few seconds. It's awesome. It's a great idea. It's going to be a dangerous and tempting waste of time for me. And because everyone needs more dangerous and tempting ways to waste time, I'm passing it on to you.

I found out about it from my Photojojo weekly email. (It has great photo ideas. Check it out.)

Indiana Pizza Kitchen

We Madsens like pizza. Not just any pizza - interesting pizza. By that I mean yummy pizzas with unusual toppings. (Think California Pizza Kitchen type pizzas. My favorite is the Thai Chicken.) Every Friday night I make two pizzas for dinner. What's on them mainly depends on what type of leftovers we have and what random pizza ingredients we have around the house. (I always have stuff like mozzarella and pepperoni in stock.)

So on Monday we had a really yummy dinner, Five-Spice Pork Chops with Grilled Plums. So good and really easy to make! And I discovered that grilled plums smell like roasting marshmallows; need I say more? I had a leftover pork chop and leftover sauce, so I decided to make a five-spice pork chop pizza. Here's how it turned out:
I thickened the sauce with some flour, chopped up the pork chop, and added some sliced green onions. I used mozzarella because that's what I had on hand and it's a pretty mild cheese. And, yes, those are sliced plums. I sprinkled the top with sesame seeds just because it seemed like a good thing to do. (Sesame seeds are yummy on lots of Asian dishes.) I think it was really good. Yes, the plums were a little unusual, but I think the sweet contrast with sauce was tasty. Food Network here I come!

My second pizza was pretty ordinary, although I did sprinkle some leftover pesto that I had. YUMMY!

Just a little potty commentary, since I'm getting tired of it myself. We had our highs and lows today. The high was the time Spencer actually told me he had to go potty and then actually did. The low was when, an hour later, he pooped all over my couch. Good thing I have my Hoover SteamVac. BEST PURCHASE EVER. I highly recommend it, especially for anyone who is potty training their kid. My carpets and furniture are cleaner now that I'm potty training Spencer than they ever were before. The irony is not lost on me.

Finally, I snapped this picture of Josh just before I put him to bed. He has been a PILL lately, and I can't figure out why. I know part of it is because he wants to be crawling but can't yet. He wants to be held all the time and yells and hollers whenever I put him down. He screams bloody murder now whenever I change his diaper or put him to bed. He hasn't been wearing clothes lately because putting them on is not worth the fight. Not fun. But at least we have quiet moments like this to make it worth it - at least for another day. :)
