Uncle Kevin had to sit in the kid section, while Dad, Susie, and I sat across the aisle.
Our first stop was the planetarium. Yes, we went there last summer, but Cole is REALLY into planets and space right now. Plus, it's free.
We checked out what clouds feel like.
We watched the pendulum. (I think Cole really wanted to grab it.)
We played with the plasma ball.
And we created our own tornadoes!
The perpetual motion machine is always pretty cool, too. (This one is HUGE.)
Finally, we went upstairs and saw the planets!
Cole was a happy, happy boy. I think he read every single sign for each planet!
Here he is in front of his favorite planet, Uranus. He even took a space quiz on a computer and scored pretty high!
Tess got lost on the moon. (In space, no one can hear you scream.)
The boys visited Mars. Josh did the robot, Spencer beat boxed, and Cole vogued.
After the planetarium we relaxed and had a quick snack at this little park inbetween temple square and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was such a beautiful day - just right temps, a little breeze, just lovely. I could have stayed out there all day! Poor Kevin had a headache, though.
Next, we headed to the basement of the JSMB to the Family Search Discovery Center. It was SO COOL. Each person was given an iPad and you could sign in with your FamilySearch account or as a guest. Then you'd go around to these little docking stations and it would tell you all sorts of neat things about yourself and your family. It really was soooo cool. My favorite part was when a big map came up and it showed me where all 8 generations of my family had come from and where they moved. The boys loved all of it; the technology was pretty impressive!
Next, we wandered around temple square a bit and even went in the tabernacle. Isn't this a sweet picture?
Cole does not like velvet ropes that tell him where he can and cannot go.

It's a pretty amazing building. Unfortunately, it carries sound very, very well, which meant that our time was limited because Cole was being a punk. More like a pill. A punkish pill. He was naughty and loud.
Finally, we headed over to City Creek Mall to find some dinner in the food court. But we of course had to check out the fountains first.
Dinner was a hurried affair because we realized we only had a few minutes to catch the train home, unless we wanted to wait until 9pm, which we did not. It took some quick moving, but we made it! (Just in time for Cole to be super loud and obnoxious on the train ride home. What is with this kid?!)
