Self-portrait Tuesday: 'Free' Date

So here I am at 12 weeks. Can you sense my excitement?

Lance is out of town tonight, so the boys and I enjoyed a date night together. (Hey, how many of you can say you've been on a date with two attractive young men on the same night. No matter that one is not house broken...)

First we went to Noodles & Co., which I absolutely lurrrrrvvve. Because I belong to their birthday club my Bangkok Curry dish was free, which made it taste all the better. Josh and Spencer ordered their usual: Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, which is not at all like mom makes. (I'm pretty sure their recipe isn't low-fat like mine is!) The boys behaved themselves wonderfully, mainly because I had starved them this afternoon so they were totally focused on snarfing down their food.

Then we went over to Cold Stone Creamery, an establishment I hardly ever go to because of the exorbitant amount they charge for ice cream. (Then again, you get what you pay for, and that's some good ice cream!) I had planned on just sharing my free cup of ice cream with the boys, but they were bound and determined to have M&M's in theirs. I hate M&M's in ice cream - they freeze and then just taste like candy-coated rocks. So I splurged and got them a cup to share. I ordered Ghirardelli Chocolate with brownies, which the boys then snarfed down after I foolishly offered to share, and then informed me that we could take their ice cream home and save it for tomorrow. Those two are getting too smart for their own good.

Then it was off for home, with quick baths and a relatively painless bedtime. All dates should be this good.

On a completely different note...

...here are a few things I caught myself saying today:
  • "Baby Jesus is not a duck. He did not fly or quack."
  • "I'm pretty sure the three wise men didn't have to shoot any bad guys. And, no, they didn't have wrestling matches either."
  • "Nope, this isn't a Christmas song. This is Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. No, I'm not wrong on this one."
  • "Um, Daddy's in Chicago, Joshie, not on the moon. Really? He's on the moon? Alrighty."
