I knew it - I was right! I feel so vindicated right now. Which is silly, because it's not like anyone was fighting me over whether I was right or not. (Except for maybe Lance's occasional "Don't get your hopes up" glances when I mentioned that I thought it was a girl. So, take that, Lance's glances!)
Apparently, most of my blog readers knew as well, since 68% voted that it was a girl. (Okay, confession time: who are the four people who voted for twins?!)
When the ultrasound tech told us I didn't feel surprised or excited or anything. Mainly I just felt like "Yeah, I knew that."
Funny but true story: while the tech looked for the gender Lance saw the umbilical cord (which was between her legs) and thought it was another boy. I laughed. Our children are not that well-endowed. My life is, apparently, a sit-com.
But that's okay, because it's a happy sit-com where the house is always perfect, we are all hilariously funny, and problems are solved within 30 minutes.
Wait. That's not right. We aren't really that funny.
Anywho, here I am at 18 weeks.
I'm one very happy momma.

Congratulations! I couldn't be happier for you! Happy baby girl! She'll be appropriately sheltered and spoiled (when she's older, of course). Until then, she'll have to learn to hold her own with her brothers! Can't wait to see the blog posts about that!

Congrats, Maren!!! I'm excited for you. I would have been excited either way :) but girls really are sweet.
I only voted for a girl because the chances have got to be more in favor for a girl. Yeah, I know, it's still 50-50, but a girl it is!! Good for you!
Yay! How exciting! Many years from now any suitors will have three older brothers to contend with. I'm sure she will be well protected, plus she will know how to hold her own after growing up with Madsen boys.

John did the SAME thing at the ultrasound with Riya! He even vocalized it. The tech ignored him and then showed him the female part - he was so embarrassed!

Congrats, Maren. I hear a girl after 3 boys is good for everyone involved. Of course, I hear that from myself because that was my family structure!
