Carrots

We spent a few hours this morning harvesting the rest of our carrots.  We made the boys help pick them, take off the tops, and then clean all the dirt off of them.  Once again there were comparisons to slavery.  Once again I had to tell them "This is not slavery - this is part of being a family."

Look at all the pretty colors!  The kids thought it was pretty cool to have carrots that were different colors.

My favorite are the coral/pink carrots. They all taste just like regular carrots.

 
What do you do with a five gallon bucket chock-full of carrots?  Make carrot cake, of course!

I'd have taken pictures of the carrot cake, but it didn't really look any different from normal carrot cake.  Plus, I forgot.  Maybe tomorrow when we devour eat it.

I'm only guessing here, but I'm pretty sure the slaves never got carrot cake.
