2014-2015 Madsen Family School Year Theme

Another school year begins tomorrow. I am both happy and sad. My kids are getting big enough that summers are quite enjoyable; they're either getting better at entertaining themselves or I'm getting better at ignoring their pleas of boredom.  Probably a bit of both.

With the beginning of the school year we had our annual Back To School Night Family Home Evening and introduced our new theme for the year.  Lance gave a good lesson about Captain Moroni and how his title of liberty related to covenants, and then we even made our own family title of liberty out of a dying church shirt I had been wanting Lance to get rid of for quite a while.  (Good lesson + getting rid of old clothes = bonus!)

This is especially pertinent for our family this year because Josh will be getting baptized in a few months and we will (hopefully!) have the new Indy temple open this spring.

We also made pictures for each of the kids to hang up in their rooms, which they were pretty excited about. (Or, if you're almost eleven, you tolerated because you're too cool and all you ever want to do is play computer.) ((Yes, we're there already.))

I think this school year is going to be great!
