Happy National S'mores Day!

Today we broke out the S'mores kit so generously given to us a few weeks ago by my good friend Deidra. Isn't it so cute and cool?  I loved the packaging - it was kinda hard for me to open because I didn't want to ruin it.

But I did because, you know, s'mores.

We all enjoyed s'mores on our hot, muggy back porch.  (Except miss Tess.  She was so grouchy and ornery that at 6pm I told her to go to bed.  And so she did.)

I've tried a lot of s'mores-based desserts.  (I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to the dessert.)  But I've found that NOTHING beats the real thing: Honey Maid Grahams, Marshmallows, and Hershey's Chocolate.
