Josh's First Pinewood Derby

Last night was Josh's first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby - very exciting.  In true Madsen fashion, Josh placed somewhere in the middle. (Just where we want to be - not dead last, but not in the top three so we don't have to go to on the the district level.)

Josh was very particular about his car - he wanted the San Francisco Giants, which we were able to do courtesy of my awesome Cricut. (As Josh would say, "Cricut POWER!!!)  The spikes are courtesy of Lance to make the car weigh more. I think it made it look pretty intimidating.

It was a pretty low-key derby; the crowd seemed kind of subdued for some reason. But the boys had a great time - especially this cute boy.

He enjoyed the races, but in all honesty I think he liked the refreshments best of all... :)

The races weren't the only entertainment of the evening: we also found some twins!

And of course Tess had a fit about something. Because it's not a church activity unless Tess has a loud meltdown over something. (In this case it was us not letting her hit us with her Hello Kitty necklace. We're jerks.)
