Cole is refusing to learn how to put on and tie his own shoes. REFUSING. With spring/summer so close - and with it easily put-on sandals - I have decided to leave this battle for back-to-school season. Hopefully it will be easier to convince Kindergartener Cole that this is a life skill he needs to master. Because Pre-K Cole will have none of it.
The other day we were running a little late and it was quite frustrating to have to put his shoes on, especially because he just kinda lays there and refuses to help in any way.
Me: You know, it would be a really big help if you would put your own shoes on.
Cole: No.
Me: Okay. It would be a really big help if you would just untie your shoes before you bring them to me.
Cole (in his snarkiest, wow-you're-so-dumb-mom voice): WHY WOULD I DO THAT?!
And then he proceeded to give me the most exasperated look a five year old boy can give.
And that, gentle readers, is Cole in a nutshell.
