It's 10pm - Do You Know Where Your Door Stop Is?

So Josh's latest form of amusement includes these:

Yep, doorstops. Hours of entertainment literally found behind every door. Woo-hoo!

He likes to bat them so that they spring back and forth and make that funny "boooiiiiing" sound. But the fun doesn't stop there. The little rubber tips come off and fit perfectly into a little baby mouth. Yum! (I have now glued all the rubber tips to the metal parts, although I discovered today that they still sometimes come off. Dang.) And if you bat the doorstop long enough, it will unscrew from the wall.

And then comes the best part - doorstops are really easy to hide! You can crawl around with them in your mouth and drop them wherever. Or you can put them underneath or, even better, in toys. Or, and this is the most fun, you can throw them and let fate determine where they land.

So for the past week I have been searching for or accidentally finding doorstops all over the house. This one was underneath the chair in the living room. Yeah yeah, there's lots of toys under there - don't judge.

Let's just say I never visualized myself spending so much time on my hands and knees looking for doorstops when I envisioned motherhood. Do they have a merit badge for finding lost doorstops? If so, I would totally deserve one. (I think I also deserve most of the others on the site. Isn't this the best idea? I have no idea what I would do with a merit badge, but I want one. Be sure to check out the merit badge tales section!)

Maybe we could have an enrichment group where we earn merit badges? We can report on our labors and then sew them on some fancy sash. I'll have to bring this up at the next presidency meeting!

Nice - I'm all for another enrichment group. :) Although instead of a sash, I think I would like my badges sewn on my diaper bag!

I too have discovered that those rubber thingies fit well in a baby mouth. Thomas discovered this for me. I never thought to glue it on though. You can be sure I will today. Thanks for the tip.
