Universal Truths

A few universal truths when taking two little boys to the park:

• On the first 70 degree day of the year, every child within a 20 mile radius will be at the park you decide to go to. It doesn't matter which park you choose - they'll be there.
• All of the above-mentioned children will outnumber the adults 35 to 1.
• Slides are fun. But they're even more fun when you go down backwards and upside down while your helpless mother loses five years of her life from the stress of seeing you so blithely court death.
  
• There's always going to be one kid at the park who acts like a jerk. Don't judge - it will be your kid at least once.
• Sand is best experienced either by throwing or eating. Mmm... gritty.
• Running downhill: fun. Running downhill away from mom: more fun. Running downhill, away from mom, and headfirst into your brother: most fun.
• The playground equipment on the opposite side of the park is always more fun. Always.
• Playing hide-and-go-seek is really fun, especially when mom doesn't know you're playing. (See how frantic she gets? Fun!)
  
• Always plan for the walk back to the car to take at least 20 minutes - even if it's less than 200 yards away.
