Okay, confession time.
We've lived here for four years now and have never been to Dog-n-Suds (a local drive-in restaurant.) Oh, the shame! And we call ourselves Hoosiers. (Well, no, we don't. But perhaps we should. Maybe.)
Well, after two and half hours at the pool with two little boys this afternoon, I was in no mood to cook. And, shockingly, Lance didn't even volunteer to make dinner. (Ha!) So we decided to see what all the fuss is about.
Well, we all enjoyed the rootbeer. And the boys lurrved their corn dogs. (They had never had corn dogs before. I know, I'm a terrible mother.)
Lance and I both had Coney Island Dogs with fries and onion rings. The verdict? Well... meh. Don't get me wrong - it wasn't gross or anything. It was even good. But I think I'd much rather go to the Smokehouse or something. Plus, the boys made a mess eating in the car. (I know, another shock!)
After dinner we decided to redeem the coupons for free ice cream at DQ that the boys got at the library. The pictures don't do it justice, but just for future reference in case you don't know: Little Boys + Ice Cream Cones = MESS.
(Oh, and don't mind me with my no make-up and after-swimming hair. I'm so close to just chopping it off again even though I just got it cut!)
On the way home Joshie kept saying "Joshie four!", which of course made Spencer upset since he is four. Then we started talking about Josh turning two in September, and how, yes, he could have a birthday party and, yes, Spencer could come to the birthday party. And then Spencer said to Lance, "Daddy, you can come to the party, too, because I really like you a lot." It was too cute.
I really like my family a lot.

I agree with you - I LOVE their rootbeer (especially the $.15 tiny mug of rootbeer - Bella looks so cute drinking it!) But their food is ... Meh.
I might agree with you if I'd had a Coney Dog Maren, but I must admit I haven't, and I've been a "Hoosier" longer than you. I like corn dogs though and since Dog-n-Suds is probably the only place to get a decent one in Lafayette, I like it!
So there you have it for what it's worth. My take on your choice of eating establishments from last night.

That picture of Josh sipping out of the straw is one of the cutest things I have ever seen! What a cutie! PS. The bug post made me laugh out loud :) Goodness it is so fun to see all you are up to!
I must say, it also took me about 4 years before I'd try Dog-n-Suds. Because really, since I moved to Lafayette I always thought of it as a place to get your dog washed. I refused to go there because eating at a place where they groom dogs would be unsanitary.
