Utah was a blast. It's always fun to spend so much time with our family. (I just hope our family feels the same way!) The boys were in heaven and went to bed exhausted every night, which is a sure sign of a good time! (Unfortunately, they're now on Utah time. As I type it is 8:45pm and Josh is still howling in his crib because he's "No sleepy! No nigh-night! Aaaaaghhhhh!" Oy.)
We had lots of fun playing at Grandpa ElRay and Grandma Susie's house. We found lots of ways to keep ourselves occupied, such as...

Frolicking in the sprinklers with Uncle Kevin

Uncle Kevin is an extremely accomplished frolicker! (Sorry, ladies, I think he's taken.)
We also went up Provo canyon for a picnic. The boys were excited to 'go up the mountain'; you could say they were a bit obsessed with the mountains. (And who can blame them? Indiana is FLAT. And the mountains are so BIG.) The adults were excited because it was A LOT cooler in the canyon.
Spencer practiced his mad tree climbing skills.
Then he practiced in the 'river'. (The rivers out there are just overgrown creeks.) ((I mean 'cricks', as the locals say.))
Don't get the wrong impression from this picture - Josh loved being in the river. He just wanted to be held by me while in the river. I was his personal water taxi. Me + Josh + slippery river rocks = some very fancy footwork. I still can't believe I didn't fall in.
Grandpa and Josh practice their 'bucket-hanger lip'. (Their bottom lips stick out so far that you could hang a bucket on them.) Josh has turned this into an art form.
We also played at the park a couple times. New parks are always way more fun, right?
Look, mom! A Utah slide! (That's what Spencer called it.)
We all played a lot of Rock Band and other games on Kevin's Xbox. It was pretty fun. I am totally a rock star. As long as it's drums or vocals. And set on easy.
By the end of the trip Spencer knew most of the words to All The Small Things by Blink 182. It makes a mother proud.
We also had the daily chore of waking up Uncle Kevin. Some days it was a bit harder than others. Spencer loved it - by 10:30 every morning he was asking "Can we wake up Kevin?"
This was the boys' favorite method. Oh, that and bottles of water. Sorry Kevin.
One day Grandma Susie made some relly fun finger paints out of pudding. Spencer, my anti-artist, humored us with it for about five minutes. But Josh loved swirling the colors, squishing it through his fists, and, of course, tasting it.
Mmmmm... paint.

Of course, it wasn't all fun and games. The boys also had to earn their keep. In just their underpants.
Thanks for all the fun, Grandpa and Grandma! We love you!
