Every March I make a new blog book using Blurb. (Who I highly recommend. A little pricey, yes, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.)
This year I splurged and paid the extra $5 for a wrap-around-image cover, rather than the dust jacket. I think it will hold up better in the years to come.
I did a lot more full-image pages, too, which I love.
Now I have three blog books plus an entire book of my personal history. That's the little one on the top - it's black and white, text only. Wait - what's a personal history? Y'know - the stuff that's a little too personal to blog about. (Patriarchal blessing, special memories, etc.) So even though I don't write in a physical journal every day, I think I'd doin' alright with the whole keepin' a personal history thing.
And yes, that is a picture of Lance and I on the top. I'm not a huge fan of the frame, but the photo got wet and is now stuck to the glass. Oh well.
We were 16 years old.

Can you please post any and all tips you have for blurb! do you know how to change all of the font? i have started the first year of our blog but it has taken me FOREVER and I keep putting off finishing it. please share your wisdome with the rest of us :)
i did a "first six months of the kiddos lives" blurb book for the grandmas this past christmas and loved it! i will definitely be using them again when i make our first year book next month.
Can I pay you to do my blurb book? Seriously! I feel the same as Ashley...and have stopped even trying. And I'm coming up on year 2 of bloggin my babies life....HELP! (okay...I know you don't know me, but I religiously blog stalk you...your family is such fun!)
Ashley and Stalker Gina (welcome!): sorry, I don't really have any tips other than go through the tutorial they offer and then just working with the program and using the 'help' option. Most of the things I learned were through trial and error.
I found that the best thing for me was to just go through, page by page, and format things how I wanted them. Yes, it took quite a while, but then it all turned out just how I wanted it and I didn't have to deal with the weird blurb formatting.
Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear! But if you just work at it I know you can do it. Good luck!
I LOVE blurb! I have made three books. I am almost done with 2009...I was mad that I didn't finish it in April when they had free shipping. I always get the wrap around image on the cover, looks Fabulous! Worth the extra money! I too go through each page and reformat it the way I like it...I think it is WAY better than scrap booking!
