Unbelievable Lies and Zoning Out

I'm almost to the point where I believe the incredible lie that this baby will actually be less of a bother outside of me than in.

Almost.

Once I do really believe it then I will know she's all done and ready to come out.

Until then, I feel like I'm zoned out half of my waking hours.  I just can't function.  I hurt when I move and I hurt when I'm still.  (That dang sciatica is back... probably to stay.)  I forget what I'm saying mid-sentence.  I can barely carry on a cohesive conversation - just ask poor Lance.  I can't get a proper night's sleep and can barely keep my eyes open during the day.

I think my body (especially my brain) has given itself up completely to these last few weeks of growing this tiny human.  In moments of clarity I miss my old, cognizant self.  But most of the time I don't realize that self is on indefinite hiatus, so it's not like I'm moping unhappily around.  (Ignorance really can be bliss!)

What do I do with the rest of my waking hours?  Try to keep the house in a semi-livable state.  This is hard to do when you can barely move or bend and you have a tornado toddler following behind you, undoing everything you just cleaned/straightened/put away.

I also try to keep the boys from killing themselves or each other.  So far I've been successful in this, but I can't deny we haven't had more accidents and injuries than normal.  Fortunately, the kiddos don't seem to feel too neglected.

Hopefully I'll get a brief, unfoggy period of time right before this baby comes.  It's happened with my others, which is good because it helps me get those last few essential things done before baby comes home.

Until then, well,  I.... what was I saying?

Zzzzzzzz.....

Maren-
You are so funny! And it's so true. I think almost any woman who's every been pregnant can totally sympathize- except for those annoyingly perky "pregnancy-makes-me-feel-great" people. Fortunately, it's all worth it in the end- and Heavenly Father made the limit 9 months so that way our other children would make it through the ordeal alive :) You're almost there!
