Picnic

I've been trying to spend more special time with Tess while we're home together. Tess is excellent at entertaining herself, and I have a never-ending list of housework and papers to edit. So it's often really easy to be at home all day together but not really spend any time together.

Anywho, yesterday on a whim I decided we should have a little picnic. Rather than making it a big to-do at the park or whatever, we just had it up on our hill, underneath one of our apple trees. It was a bit bright out, but an IKEA umbrella took care of that problem.

Her pink pigs a random collection of other toys joined us.

I expected her to last about 30 minutes.

NINETY minutes later I was like "Um, I have things I still have to get done!" She talked the entire time; it was all I could do to get her to eat! I guess we will have to have more picnics while the weather holds.

I talk a lot about the freedom I'll have to get work done next year when all 4 kids are in school all day, but I'm sure there will be times when I miss this sweet girl!
