What does 21 pounds of blueberries look like?
This:

And what do two little boys 'helping' their Momma pick 21 pounds of blueberries this morning look like?
This:

They were actually really good. Spencer probably picked a whole pound by himself. Then he ate a whole pound right off the bushes. Then he and Josh decided to cut out the middle man and just eat the berries out of my bucket, and were sorely offended when I put a stop to that. I know, I'm a bad mom.
No, really, I am. Because soon after that, Spencer tripped over Josh and was falling backwards (in a sitting position) into my full bucket of blueberries. Without even thinking, I pushed him over and on to the ground. (Hey, I didn't spend an hour picking that bucket to have him squash them all!) He wasn't hurt, but was quite upset that I pushed him.
I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't do it again.
It gets worse. When we were done and getting into the car I put the blueberries on the ground so I could open the trunk. Josh tripped over something (probably an ant or something - it doesn't take much to get him to fall) and fell straight toward a bag of blueberries. Once again I found myself pushing my child in order to save my berries.
And once again, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't do it again.
Oh well. I made it up to the boys by making a blueberry pie this afternoon.

I think I'm forgiven.

(Well, maybe not by Spencer - he wouldn't pose for a picture.)

Wow...my kids would be in blueberry heaven...if there is such a place. I, myself do not like them at all. Where did you go to pick so many blueberries? Looks like fun...and I had a similary experience in my garden with the pushing of the child to save the plant. Brody tripped on something and his hand fell right on top of one of my newly sprouting bean plants, so I rushed in to save my plant. (he was fine)
Sierra and I are sitting here drooling over your blueberrys and that perfect pie! Yum! Sierra wants to know where you get so many blueberries?
Mindi - there is a blueberry farm about 15 minutes from my house. (Yes, I live in the boonies. Well, just shy of the boonies.) We go there every summer. So Yummy! You should check online and see if there are any U-pick places near you. My favorite site for this is: http://www.pickyourown.org/
