Roper Family Reunion - Family Tree

The 2008 Roper Family Reunion was held from August 1st - August 3rd at the L.C. Ranch in Altamont, UT. (a.k.a. The Middle of Nowhere.) (Really.)

We numbered just shy of 50 family members, ranging in age from six months to 80 years. Just for my memory and the benefit of future generations, here's a brief Roper family tree. (Okay, I know this isn't exactly high-end entertainment for anyone outside of the Roper family, but too bad. I want this in my blog book.) This is all as of the reunion; who knows what it will be like by this time next year. (We seem to have additions or changes about every six months or so!)

In the beginning there was Grandpa and Grandma Roper, a.k.a. Voit and Reva (Merrell) Roper. (But I've always know them as Grandpa and Grandma Roper.) Grandpa died in 1982 (?), so Grandma has been the matriarch of the family for quite a while.

Grandpa and Grandma had five children. In birth order they are:

Delwyn, who married Becky and had four children:

• Jennifer, who married Rob and had Ryan, Quinn, and Brooklyn
• Andy, who married Lily and had Matthew and Tiffany
• Danny, who had Gracelyn
• Emily

ElRay, who married Wendy and had three children:

• Maren, who married Lance and had Spencer and Josh
• Kyle
• Kevin
• Susie - just kidding. Susie is NOT one of the kids. (I just didn't know where else to put her in this strange family tree layout.) She is, in fact, one of the world's greatest Grandmas and least-wicked step-mothers around. My mom died in April of 2004, and my dad was dang lucky enough to marry Susie in December of 2005. We love you, Susie!
  

Teryl, who married Tammy and had six children (fun fact: the last three are triplets):

• Allison, who married Scott* and had Madeline

• Shelly, who married Jarod and is expecting early next year (!)

• Megan

Valerie, who married Jared** and had five children:

• Christopher
• Laura
• Jordan
• Peter
• Tim

Bryce, who married Janee and had five children:

• Cameron
• Brandon
• Kate
• Ben
• Delaney
  

Whew! So that's everyone. I LOVE my family. As someone mentioned during our short testimony meeting that Sunday morning, our family is unique in that even though we're all very different, everyone gets along. Not only do we love each other, but we all like each other as well. That's not something that can be said about a lot of families nowadays.

I am blessed.

*Scott was the only person not at the reunion. We missed you, Scott!
**Jared is Rachel's uncle, so we're cousin-in-laws. Cool, huh?
