Late Bloomers

My babies are late bloomers: they teeth late, roll over late, crawl late, and walk late.  Well, at least later than normal.

And that's cool with me.  Later teething means less biting of Momma.  And later crawling and walking means less (well... later) destruction and running away from Momma.

There's nothing wrong with them, other than maybe a little laziness.  It's fun to watch them watch other crawling babies.  My babes always have this look on their face like "Whoa, dude!  WHAT are you doing?  Why in the world would you want to do that when you can have your momma carry you around wherever you want to go?  Look at you, using your legs like a sucker."

Cole cut his first tooth last week. (It was extra fun because he was sick, which really isn't that much of a surprise, is it?)  You can kinda see it in these pictures; it's on the bottom.

Okay, kinda not.  But trust me, it's there.  We've all felt it.

(Side note: What is it about a new tooth that makes everyone stick their fingers inside the baby's mouth?  Seriously, it's like it must be done.  "New tooth?  Let me feel it!  OUUUCHH!"  And why is it always a surprise when the baby bites you with that little razor he's growing?)

Anywho, Cole's still not crawling.  No surprise.  (Spencer waited until he was 12 months old; Joshua was 11 months.)  He was actually showing a bit of interest in it, but then he started getting all sick all the time and all he wanted to do was be held and walked around.  Fun.

But now he's feeling better and is up for some crawling lessons from daddy.  I don't know how effective they are, but he sure is having fun!
