Another Baby Weight Giveaway!!

We're down to the final days, people.  I now completely believe the lie that this child will be easier to take care of outside of me than in.  I know it's a lie, but I still believe it.  Hormones are tricky that way.

In a perfect world, this child will wait until Monday morning to be born.  But after the fun we had with Cole I'm not holding my breath.  At this point I'm just hoping she'll hold out until Grandpa and Grandma get here Saturday morning.

Whenever I stand up it feels like she's going to fall out of my belly.  If only it were that easy.

Anywho, once again I want to do a guess-the-weight giveaway for my blog readers.  And once again the prize will be an Amazon gift card in the amount of the winning guess.  In other words, if you win and your guess was 8 pounds 5 ounces, then you will get an $8.05 Amazon gift card.  (Which I could use - I have over $300 worth of Kindle books on my wish list.  Man, I need to start getting back to the library.  But the Kindle is convenient...)


The rules are also the same:
1. Leave a comment on this post with your guess. (Remember, there are 16 ounces in a pound.)
2. The winner will be the guess closest to the actual birth weight without going over.
3. You can guess more than once - but I'll only accept your most recent guess. (So if you guess three times your third guess is the one that counts.)
4. You can guess from now until April 17th at midnight.  (Unless, of course, this pesky baby is born early, and then voting will end right before the birth weight is posted on this blog or Facebook. :)

So I guess you'd rather her be bigger so your gift card amount will be larger.  Jerk.  Because it will be so much better for me physically and monetarily if she's smaller.

Would you like a few hints? 

Hmm... well, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that girls are usually born a little smaller than boys.  But then again, I also read somewhere that subsequent babies are usually a little bigger than first borns.  So those two facts kinda cancel each other out.  Plus, I have no idea where or when I read those facts, so they could be completely bogus.

How about the weights of my previous kiddos?

Spencer was a lovely and perfectly average 7 pounds 12 ounces. So content.  So cute.  So portable.

Josh was a rather unwieldy 9 pounds 15 ounces.  All the nurses gasped when he was born because he was so big.  I love this picture because it was taken while the nurses frantically searched the hospital for a size 1 diaper.  Doesn't he look ANGRY to be a diaper that's too small?!  My arms ached after a few days of carrying him.

And then there's Mr. Cole.  As you can see in this picture he was a healthy 8 pounds 14 ounces, not very small but also not as big as other previously mentioned angry babies.  And then he decided to fast for a few days, lost a bunch of weight, and freaked everyone out.  Punk.

So, Josh was 2 pounds 3 ounces heavier than Spencer and 1 pound 1 ounce heavier than Cole.  And Cole was 1 pound 2 ounces heavier than Spencer. Hmm.  So I guess that's not really much help.  Sorry.

But no worries.  I have complete faith in you.  If I remember correctly (and it will just have to be me remembering because I'm too lazy to go back and look it up), my old roommate and buddy Mindi guessed the exact weight last time, so it's certainly possible that you could do it this time.  I have complete faith in you.
