Ode to Pregnancy Heartburn

Oh, how you pain me!
Does not matter what I eat
Nor the time of day.

Middle of the night.
Is it the storm that wakes me?
No. Stupid heartburn.

I hate you, heartburn.
No, really. I loathe you much.
Oh, how I hate you.

In case you haven't guessed yet, I'm having major issues with heartburn.  It's not constant - yet - but it is quite frequently, especially at night.  I've never had this symptom with my other pregnancies, so I guess I can just explain the difference on the gender of the baby.  Then again, there's that old wives tale that says the more heartburn during pregnancy the more hair the baby will have.  My last three babies have been bald, bald, bald, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how much hair this little girl has!

My heartburn was Awful with the last. I learned DON'T USE TUMS! They take care of the problem short term, but then make it worse - in about an hour. Maalox or Mylanta works best. I hope you feel better. Heartburn, swollen feet and belly are the worst. :)
