Me: Cole, what do you want for your birthday?
Cole: I want to be three!
Me: You're three now, but you're gonna be four. Hooray!
Cole: No. NO. I want to be three! I am three!
Me: Four.
Cole: I HATE FOUR!!!
People always talk about the terrible twos, but in my experience three year olds are WAY worse. Which is why it's killing me that Cole is refusing to turn four. It just seems a bit auspicious... I don't think I can handle another year of Cole being three. In eleven days he's turning four, regardless of his stance on the proposition!!

I think you should tell Cole that if he doesn't turn 4 he won't get any 4th birthday presents! ;)
