Borderline Obsession... Maybe Not So Borderline

Anyone who knows me knows that I luuuurrrrvvveee Halloween. I love fall; the leaves changing colors, the "fall" scent, the crisp air, even going back to school. (I think I will love fall even more now that it will be my kids going back to school rather than me!) But that's not what I love most of all. What do I love most?

Pumpkins.

And actually, it's not so much love as obsession. Passion. Hang-up. Infatuation. Neurosis.

Man, do I love a good pumpkin.

I don't know why; I just do. They're so cute and have such personality and I just have to have them. It's not my fault - it's a genetic condition I inherited from my mom. I also inherited a ton of her decorative pumpkins, and I now I buy a new pumpkin every year. (Usually the day after Halloween - hey, I may be obsessed but my cheap side usually wins!) Once I get them out I'll take some pictures of my favorites.

For the past few years now I have made a rule that I can't buy any pumpkins until October. (It helps control my pumpkin buying compulsion.) And since today was the first day of October and grocery shopping day, I picked up three from Wal-Mart.

Joy!

I love them. Love them love them love them!

And this year is even better because I was able to grow some small sugar pumpkins in our garden. My favorite is the one with the twisty stem.

Hee hee... I'm so happy about the pumpkins I can barely sit still.

Pumpkin bliss!

very cute! when you get around to carving a pumpking this year, I might need a lesson from the master ;) especially since this may be my last opportunity to learn from you. Just let me know when!
