The boys are both asleep. They have been for the past two hours.
It's a miracle.
I can't remember the last time Spencer took an afternoon nap. And although tonight I'll probably regret letting him sleep this long, I'm grateful for the break now!
Because I'm such a good and happy Suzie-Q-Homemaker, I used the peace and quiet to get some housework done.
Okay, that's a lie. I only did the housework because: a) the house was getting pretty grungy, b) I'm trying not to take naps during the day because then I can't sleep at night, which makes me want to take a nap the next day... it's a vicious cycle, and c) I'm not reading any great books right now, so there was nothing to distract/tempt me.
In the two hours they've been asleep I have: cleaned both bathrooms, cleaned the kitchen, mopped, dusted the entire house, polished the furniture in the master bedroom, polished the entertainment center, done two loads of laundry, and started this post. (Spencer is now stirring; my break is going to be short-lived soon.)
But the fun doesn't end there!
This Friday is the Father/Son camp out, and this year I have deemed Josh old enough to join in on the festivities. Woo-hoo!
So what wondrous plans do I have in store for the evening and morning I have to myself? Here's the agenda:
5:00pm - Lance comes home. I'll throw the kids and their gear into the car as it rolls into the driveway. No sense getting out when you're just going to leave again, hon! Air kisses to all!
5:10pm - Run errands, including getting all of my veggie plants for my garden.
6:30pm - Get dinner. Because there's no way I'm cookin' tonight, baby! (Any suggestions where I should go? Anyone want to join me?)
7:30pm - Vacuum and steam clean the carpets in the living room, hall, office, and possibly the bedrooms. (What?! There's nothing quite as satisfying as cleaning a dirty carpet. I promise.)
Whenever I finish - Watch Grey's Anatomy and Lost, read, and go to bed. (By myself! No one to change, no one to read to, no one to snore in my ear!)
Next Day
8:00am - Plant my garden!
(Of course, that's assuming good weather and dry ground. If not, I'll sleep in and then do a little shopping, which is just as fun!)
12:00pm - Shower and get ready to take Spencer to a birthday party.
A magical day, indeed.

Carl's taking Eva on the Mother/Daughter campout this weekend. Woohoo! They need a priesthood holder to go and I definitely wasn't going to take her. Then, next weekend is the Father/Son campout. So I'll have two weekends of just 1 kid at a time.
You lucky thing! Now you just need to get your ward to plan a daddy/child camp out for the week after and you will have the perfect tri-fecta of child-free weekends. :)
Maybe I should get Joe to take Jase...but then we have plans for Saturday morning... Enjoy your kid free and hubby free time!
No suggestions for dinner but for dessert.... Stop at Local Mountain coffee located in the shopping strip in front of Meijer. They have Gellato(sp?) a scrumptious italian ice cream... I stopped by and had bannana caramel praline gellato and it was awesome they get everything local as in the USA - the coffee is from Colorado and they also have handmade jewelry for sale treat yourself for mothers day :).... hey just skip dinner :) Enjoy the kid free evening!!!
