We started our festivities a little early: last week the boys helped me find green things from all around the house, and then we decorated our mantel with them. It's fun to see what kind of things they come up with.
We also filled the apothecary jar with green and gold balls, which I thought was a nice touch.
This morning my family feasted on green eggs and ham. Doesn't that just look appetizing?
I thought it tasted pretty good, once you got over the color. Which everyone did. Plus, and I'm not at all embarrassed to state this, I make the world's greatest scrambled eggs. (Green or not.) Maybe I'll post about them some time.
Spencer was a grouch for some reason. I think he wanted green waffles like we had last year.
I thought Josh would be more excited about this as well, since he loves the book Green Eggs and Ham. Oh well.
Cole decided to sleep in until 9am, which was AWESOME. He spent the rest of the day wearing green, getting his naps interrupted, playing outside, whining, getting his legs caught in the bars of the crib, and eating.
Today he only wanted to eat raisins. I knew I shouldn't have introduced them to him. I later convinced him to eat some of the soda bread I made - but it had raisins in it, so big surprise.
Here's the bread I made.
It was pretty darn tasty, and I considered using it as my international food of the month. But it was a very Americanized version, so I didn't. Besides, I have something else in mind for that later. Something also from the British Isles. Something that will be WONDERFUL. If I can pull it off. (Intrigued?)

How did you make the ham green? I have always wondered how that works. You are a good mom. We did nothing special for today. Too much effort :) Maybe next year.
