Pinterest Craft Fail - and - Growth Spurt

Don't you love Pinterest?

I love Pinterest.

I'm always finding crafts and projects and recipes that I want to try out.

And sometimes I actually do.

And usually they turn out.

(Just wait 'til you see the pennant banners I made for the 4th of July!)

But today's project?  Well, not so much.

I found this string art tutorial on Pinterest and thought that this would look really cute in my kitchen.  Here's what the finished product looked like on the tutorial:

Aaanndd here's what mine looks like:

Dang.

I mean, it's not terrible, right? (RIGHT?!)  It's not awful.  But it's certainly not as perfect and cute as I would like it to be.  Needless to say, it's not going up in my kitchen for a couple of reasons: 1) I'm a craft snob and this doesn't exactly meet my standards. 2) I'm afraid someone will ask me if Spencer made it.  Awwwkward.

Oh well, I'm not too disappointed.  The whole thing only cost around $6 and only took a couple of hours of my time.

In completely unrelated news, I'm pretty sure Cole is gearing up for a giant growth spurt.  For the past week he has been gobbling up any and all food in sight, drinking milk like a maniac, and taking naps.  On purpose.

As in, he'll be tired in the early afternoon and I'll say "Cole, why don't you go take a nap on the couch?"  And then he says "okay" and actually does it.

Will wonders never cease...

In other unrelated news, Tess has a fever.

Again.

This child can't seem to catch a break lately.  She's been sick or teething or otherwise afflicted with something or other for the past 8 weeks.  Poor kid.
