My boys have really gotten into little plastic Army men lately. (Thanks, Margot.) We even had to buy a 55 piece set yesterday because the eight or so they had just didn't cut it. They're all about setting them up, knocking them over, and then wrestling on top of them because someone didn't want them knocked over.
Manly stuff.
Spencer came to me quite distraught this afternoon because Josh had peeled off the stickers on one of the flags. He was quite traumatized, because without the stickers on the flag how would he know which army was good and which was bad? Oh, the questions and conundrums of childhood!
So I suggested we look through my sticker collection and see if we could find something suitable for his army flag. I thought he'd go for some stars or a bear or rhino or something testosteroney. (I have a lot of random stickers.)
Nope.
He chose this:

Yes, those are Easter Eggs and polka dots.

Pastel and cute. Not so manly.
Spencer was terribly pleased. He claimed he would have used the Christmas stickers, but since Easter was more recent he'd use the eggs. He happily ran walked back to the living room, admiring his flag and humming "Jingle Bells". Josh quickly started trying to peel the stickers off of the other flag, in the hopes that he could have an Easter egg flag, too. (No success, yet.)
Such manly little men I have.
