1. I overslept (Lance turned his alarm clock off but didn't bother waking me up) ((I use his alarm as my own)) but still got Spencer up and ready in time for preschool. Despite Josh's best efforts otherwise. (Take that, demon toddler!)
2. Remember the really nice cookware set I bought about 18 months ago? The 3 quart saucepan, which I use on a daily basis, started to have problems about six months ago. Specifically, the handles kept coming loose. Every time I tightened the screws they would just come loose again. Then, about three months ago no matter how much I tightened them the screws wouldn't get tighter. I must have stripped them, although I never tried to tighten that much. What was weird, though, was that I couldn't loosen them and just take the handles off, either. As a result I had extra wobbly handles; annoying. I finally got around to taking the sauce pan back to Kitchen Art, where I originally bought the set. (I figured I would start with them rather than the manufacturer.) I figured they could at least point me in the right direction.
They. Were. Awesome.
I was there all of ten minutes and then left with a brand new sauce pan. They were polite, helpful, apologetic about the pan (even though it wasn't their fault!), and didn't seem to mind Josh's best attempts at destroying the store. Buying local is so worth any extra cost! I LOVE good customer service. They just gained a lifelong customer.
3. I made Josh a messenger tote bag today using this super-easy tutorial. (It took me longer than 32 minutes, but that's because the boys insisted on interrupting me every other freakin' minute.) Joshie chose the Thomas fabric (not my cup of tea) and loved it. Tomorrow Spencer gets Lightening McQueen and I get some really cute summer prints. Pictures are sure to follow.
4. My herbs are sprouting like crazy! I may not get to have a vegetable garden this year, but I will have lots of herbs in my sunny kitchen windowsill. *joy*
5. We had Dirt Dessert for FHE tonight. Josh particularly enjoyed helping me put the gummy worms into the 'dirt'. And it took a few assurances to Spencer that the dirt was actually quite yummy and mysteriously tasted like Oreo cookies.

Love, love, love Kitchen Art. It was known in our household as "The Mommy Store." I have yet to find its equal.
I'm so glad that Kitchen Art worked out. I was crossing my fingers as I started reading that paragraph. I think they are awesome too. I teach the owner of the store's 4 kids piano. They are a wonderful family as well. It's funny how much they advertize their store to me without even realizing it. The kids wear "Kitchen Art" T-shirts multiple times a week. And like last Wednesday, they walked in and said, "Wow, it smells good in here" I said, "Good, then you can't smell the burnt breadsticks!" and then she said, "Do you need an oven thermometer to test your oven? I'm sure that Larry's got a few at the store."
Anyway, I love it too. Larry knows how a small business should be and is very good at it. There are plenty of other small business owners in town that are NOT good at what they do, and you can tell, no matter how long they've had they're store open.
