Kid Tree

I am an admitted and unrepentant Christmas tree snob.  I can't help it.  My mother made me that way.  Here's my tree:

(Yeah, that's a stuffed animal rat under there.  We have four.  You would too, if you had three little boys.)

As you can see, I'm totally crazy.  I don't have to have all the same kind of ornament, like the trees you see at the store.  I just like a certain color scheme and lots of sparkly shininess.

Here's my Henry VIII ornament, with four of his six unfortunate wives.  I love Henry VIII.  He was the rock star of the Tudor dynasty.

This is obviously not a kid tree.  Much to Joshie's dismay.

But that's why we have the kid tree. It's covered in ornaments my kids have made or bought.  Lots of felt and baked dough.

In years past we've been known to string cereal or pasta as garland for the tree.  This year we went a different direction: old shower curtain rings.  (Washed, of course.)  Awesome.

The boys had a great time decorating the tree.  They were obviously too busy to actually look at the camera.  Or put on pants, in Joshie's case.

And Cole had a great time watching and trying to wiggle out of my arms and make a lunge for the tree.  I have the feeling we're VERY lucky he's not very mobile this year.  (He can kinda shimmy and roll around the floor, but not very well yet.  Thank goodness.)

Beautiful trees- I like them both! One of these years, I want to do separate trees. Actually, I wouldn't mind a tree per room!
