The Boy Who Cried Sick

Poor Josh.

He has a terrible mother.

He was home sick from school yesterday, and while I wasn't mean to him, I wasn't exactly nurturing or sympathetic. That's because Josh has been "sick" a lot this year. Dying in the morning, bouncing off the walls an hour after school has started.

And his symptoms? Pretty sketchy. His tummy hurt. His head hurt. But no vomiting, no fever.

Until dinnertime. Fever of 101. Chills. Sweats. Sick.

Oops.

I made it up to him by reading to him for 45 minutes. And then forcing him into bed because he was a little delirious.

He was pretty sick this morning, too, but now that the ibuprofen has kicked in and he's showered he's feeling much better. But this means another day home from school, and probably the same tomorrow. (You're not supposed to send kids to school until they've been fever free for 24 hours.) Dang.

Meanwhile, I'm disinfecting the house and praying no one else gets this bug because Lance is leaving for California today.

February, you are the worst. (Yes, it's the month's fault.)
