Sixteen Percent

So here's the deal. I've only been 100% well two out of the past twelve days. That's 16% healthy, 84% unhealthy.

And excuse my language, but that blows.

I had my second bout of the flu Sunday. Then I felt better most of Monday, but started feeling funky that night. By Tuesday morning I was sure I had a UTI. My doctor appointment today confirmed it.

Aren't I the lucky one?

Hopefully the antibiotics I'm now on will get rid of any lurking bugs that are biding their time in my poor, apparently defenseless, body.

But at least I had an interesting day. Here are a few highlights (and lowlights, if you will):

• Spencer did great at swim lessons today. The nice senior ladies made a tunnel out of the water noodles for the kids to swim through; Spencer swam through like a pro and charmed each and every one of them in true Spencer style.
• While Spencer was showering after swim lessons, Josh of course slipped and fell while running on the wet tiles. While I bent over to pick up my writhing, angry toddler, Spencer sprayed me in the back with the hand sprayer. In true mommy fashion, I gave him an earful and then some.

• I had to take the boys to the doctor with me, which was fine because they were pretty well behaved. Except for the raisins all over the waiting room. And the fully unrolled roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. And the wrestling match over who got to stand on the scale.
• I had to give a urine sample. Spencer listened to reason and stood outside with the nurse; Josh did not. Although he did manage to open the door right in the middle of things and 'play' with the previously-mentioned toilet paper. Getting a urine sample with a toddler in the room really is as difficult as you can imagine.

• I finally tried out the Wal-Mart pharmacy today. (In the past it's always just been more convenient to call in the prescriptions to CVS, who already has all of our info.) You know what? It rocks!!! I got five days worth of antibiotics for $.80. Yes, you read right - $.80. Awesome.
• Because it was lunchtime I bought the boys lunch at Subway. And of course halfway through Spencer announced that he had to go pottie. Now.
  

• I got to take an hour long nap this afternoon while Spencer was on the computer and Josh was napping. Woo-hoo!
• Spencer had a major accident during my nap. Who knows why - he seems to need one about once a month. Major crying and battling ensued after the usual consequence of no more playing computer was enforced.
