Okay, Who Is This Kid?

This is for real. This really happened. You can't make this stuff up.

Josh tore the front of the drawer off in our bathroom.

See, I let him play with this drawer; it just has bandaids and other baby-friendly first aid stuff in it. It's 'his' drawer. So it was no big deal when I heard him playing with it this morning. I was in the hall in our room when I heard the distinctive crunch of nails being torn from particle board and then the thud of something heavy.

I ran into the bathroom and found this.

Are you kidding me?!?! I was stunned. I didn't know quite what to do. Josh did - he reached his chubby little arm into the drawer and started pulling stuff out and throwing it everywhere. I finally came to my senses and made him stop, what with the exposed nails and all. (He didn't like this one bit, by the way.)

Then I called Lance, because it just seemed like one of those special moments that needs to be shared between spouses.

I couldn't stop laughing. Because what else could I do? What does one do when their 15 month old rips the front of your bathroom drawer off?

Then we went to JCPenny to get Spencer's four year old portraits taken. (Only one month late!) I was filling out some paperwork while the boys played in the play area. All of a sudden I heard a sound I was familiarized with this morning: the crunch of nails being torn from particle board and then the thud of something heavy.

I slowly turned around, afraid to look.

Josh was sitting next to a rather large cabinet door that he had apparently just torn off.

The portrait people came right over and told me not to worry - that it had been "kinda broken for a while now". Well, at least I didn't have to pay for it. They quickly taped it closed and put a 'broken' sign on it. Josh kept playing as he did this morning, acting as if this was the most natural thing in the world. I wanted to take a picture for the blog, but decided not to press my luck with the portrait people.

Apparently we are living with Samson. Or Goliath. Or the Hulk. Whatever. I'm a bit afraid to take him to the YMCA tomorrow; who knows what destruction he'll perform in the toy room while I'm working out.

Perhaps I'll have to teach them Lance's new way of restraining our lil' Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.

Yeah, it's funnier now that I've blogged about it. Let's just hope we can fix it this weekend!
