I have been the Relief Society Compassionate Service Leader in our ward for a year - but today I was extended another calling. I'm taking a page out of Kayli's book to see if anyone can guess what it is. Here are a few hints:
* I've never had this calling before. (So, you know it's not Activities Committee - AGAIN!)
* I'm kinda freaked out by it (but I'm kinda freaked out by any new calling I get).
* I've worked with this organization before, but in a very different capacity.
So let the guessing begin! I'll let you know what it is next Sunday.
On a different but still Sunday-related note...
(First, let me qualify all of this by saying that since Lance is the Ward Executive Secretary and has meetings before church, I always have to get the boys ready for church myself. And young boys and church seem to have a healthy dislike of each other. Hence the... fun.)
Sunday is a bad day for shirts around this house. Remember last week and the pickle juice? This wasn't as messy but way grosser. But let's start with Spencer.
This morning I asked Spencer to go into the living room and put his church clothes on. (They were in the living room because that's where I ironed them. No sense in moving clothes all over the house, right? Okay, I'm just lazy.) I was in the back parts of the house and could hear Spencer dinkin' around and playing. Every few minutes I would yell out to him "Put your pants on!" He finally got his pants on, so then I had to start saying "Put your shirt on!" because apparently he has the attention span of a chinchilla with ADD. After a while I didn't hear anything, so I figured I should check on him.
He was sitting on his shirt.
Not just sitting. He had balled up the freshly ironed shirt and was sitting/bouncing on it while watching cartoons and drinking milk out of a leaky sippy cup.
^@#$&!!!! Why do I even iron? Could someone tell me please?
It was my turn next. I had on a freshly ironed, clean as snow, crisp, white collared shirt. Way cute with my light green eyelet skirt! Any mom should know better than to put on a freshly ironed, clean as snow, crisp, white collared shirt anytime sooner than right before you head out the door. But I had a moment of temporary insanity and thought that I could get away with it.
I had been getting Josh dressed, which apparently feels like getting skewered alive to him, what with all the yelping and wiggling and general TANTRUMness. I was done and he was on the floor, getting over his crying jag. He's also been teething a ton lately. So as any mom knows, crying + teething = runny nose. But again, the temporary insanity kicked in, and instead of bringing the tissue to him, I picked him up to take him to get a tissue. Within three seconds he had wiped his nose all across my shoulder.
&@#$^#@!!! This is why I can't have nice things.
And, gross.
On a lighter note, it matched my skirt pretty well.

I may have an idea, but don't want to say it out loud. Or should that be write it out loud? If it's what I think it is; lucky you! Enjoy!
I'm going to say Activity Days leader or maybe Scouts.
I've been MIA for a couple weeks, and am just catching up on your blog. Love the birthday bash activities! OK...I guess Young Womens as your new calling.
Sunday School teacher....but teaching the teen kids
I'm guessing Young Women mainly because Gigi said she shouldn't say, and last time I had any clue about anything, she was in YW. How's that for my detective skills.
Thanks for the link....it's always a flatterying kind of thing. Or maybe only to me cause I'm vain.
Too funny about your shirt...it was just this Sunday that Brett's white shirt got WAAAAAAAY shnozzed on by Ethne--bright green. I told him he had to hold her the whole time so she would cover it up. Ha. The joys!!! :)
