TIME OUT

Two of the most dreaded words in our home (at least for Spencer) became a happy Saturday for me. I was able to go to Time Out for Women yesterday, and it was great! I really enjoyed getting out of the house (sans children) and spending time with some good friends. The speakers were really good and said a lot of things I needed to hear. I was even able to resist buying everything in sight, which made me feel good at the time but now I wish I had bought a couple of books. Oh well, I guess self-control isn't always a good thing! But here are a few good ideas from yesterday:

1. Our standards are not socially negotiable.

2. The world's definition is NOT the same as the Lord's definition.

3. Believe in what you are doing.

4. How many is one? Sometimes one is a multitude. (Meaning that one person, even doing ordinary things, can effect many, many people.)

5. Our character is shaped by what we think. Would we say the negative things we think about ourselves to our friends? Then why do we think it's okay to say them to ourselves?
